Heirloom Gents "Lifetime" Re-Fillable Journal Covers - Large
The series of covers are based around the popular Moleskine Cahiers, Midori notebooks and "clones", and Day Runner's Life Tracker Planners> This means you are not tied to buying a hard to find, or single sourced refill. You can simply insert your favorite brand when you need to refill. Various calendar planners, as well as ruled, blank and grided notebook inserts are available locally and via the internet, all of which will fit into this cover.
The journal covers are generously sized and with multiple fastenings so up to three notebook inserts can be used at one time. Just slip your favorite notebook under one of the elastic cords. They also feature two cord place keepers so you can easily open to a desired page. The inserts interchange within minutes so you can re-configure the journal/planner for the day, or week ahead.
I am using my durable heavy Latigo which will develop a nice patina over the years as the leather wears and ages. I wanted a leather that will carry a few range marks and color variation, and that will age with use to give them a bit more character. These are working journals...a daily companion you don't need to baby and one that will pick up more character each time it travels with you.
The elastic bindings and keepers are easily replaced if they wear or break. Each journal is marked on the back cover with my Heirloom Razor Strop Co. "Gents" logo.
The larger Lifetime Journal cover measures 6" x 8 3/4" and fits any staple bound notebooks up to 5 3/8" x 8 1/4". The notebook inserts are not included.
Please note that the covers were designed to fit the simple "staple bound" style notebooks. These are the type where the pages are folded at the spine and secured by either stitching or staples through the spine of the book such as the Moleskine cahiers and the many clones on the market. While this series will fit the "book" type journals with Smythe Sewn bindings they are really not designed for the application.....that is another product for the future.
