Heirloom 4 Sided Paddle Strop Blanks / Kits

I am offering my finished wooden blanks for those who want to make their own paddles, or as a kit with horsehide and/or latigo pieces cut to size for you to assemble. You will need to supply a contact type adhesive, either a brush on solvent based contact cement or the 3M "90" spray adhesive, and have a way to clamp or bind the leather in place while the glue sets (heavy books, 2 pieces of wood and clamps or an elastic roll bandage wrapped around the paddle to apply pressure).
This was my most popular paddle design and patterned after the style of an 1880's original. The solid one piece handle and strop body is made from hard maple by my Amish woodworker friend and the handle and square end are finished in a warm brown stain and durable clear coat finish.
These feature 1 1/2" x 10" stropping surfaces and an overall length of 14". You can buy just the finished wooden blank ready for your own leather, or I can supply a kit with either 4 pieces of horsehide (for pastes) or 3 pieces of horsehide (for pastes) and 1 piece of latigo (for daily use), already cut to size and ready for you to apply.
